Churchill Downs (USA): A Gr.1 for Pastorius

The 6-year-old mare Dalkia (Pastorius) who gave her sire Pastorius (Soldier Hollow) a first Group victory last year, obtains the consecration by winning the Beverly D. Stakes (Gr.1). Immediately installed in the lead, she started first and showed courage to fend off the fine attack by Princess Grace (Karakontie) ridden by Florent Géroux. As for Rougir (Territories), which had pleasantly imposed itself on its debut in the USA, it continues to disappoint and finishes dead last. Bred in Germany by Gestüt Ammerland, Dalika therefore offers a first Gr.1 to Pastorius who stands at the Haras de la Hêtraie, a Pastorius in great success this year, with in particular Riocorvo (Grand Prix de Vichy, Gr.3) , Parol (Grosser Preis der Wirtschaft, Gr.3, 2nd Prix Jacques Laffitte, L. & 3rd Badener-Meile, Gr.2), Lord Leoso (Altano-Rennen, L.).
