Geodis will acquire the American express transport company Need It Now Delivers to strengthen its offer in the United States, the logistics branch of the SNCF announced on Tuesday.
Based in New Jersey, Need It Now Delivers operates a domestic road freight network, particularly in the eastern United States. It employs around 2,000 people for an estimated turnover of 750 million dollars in 2022. Geodis has signed an agreement to acquire the company, the value of which has not been disclosed, and which remains subject to the approval of the regulatory authorities. This should take place”by the end of 2022“, according to Geodis. Founded in 1987, Need It Now Delivers is partly owned by its management and by the private equity fund Palm Beach Capital. The company carries out courier, last mile delivery and multi-channel contract logistics activities for “different high growth sectors“.
Geodis had already acquired a major American logistics operator, OHL, in 2015 and had announced its intention to acquire another American freight network. The group had recently taken an interest in the company Pilot Freight Services, finally bought for 1.7 billion dollars by the Danish shipowner Maersk, which outbid.
